to everyone who contributed to my Arctic Circle project and for forwarding the info and sharing the link to my fundraiser on USA Projects!  We raised $4,500 !  I am going to Svalbard Norway and The Arctic Circle residency this fall.  Yay!

SITE Santa Fe SPREAD Grant FINALIST!!!!!!

SWEET!

Cedra Wood and myself co-applied for a grant (generally about $7500) through SITE Santa Fe.  SPREAD is a sliding-scale fee dinner party in which the finalists (six this session) get to pitch their big IDEA to the crowd and they vote on it, whoever wins the most votes gets a box of cash at the end of the night.

Cedra and I are both going on The Arctic Circle residency on an ice-breaking Barquentine departing Svalbard Norway this autumn.  We seek funding for the program, travel, materials, and ice gear!

GRANT!!!!

I was recently awarded the Lighton International Artists Exchange Program grant from the Kansas City Artists Coalition to help fund my Arctic Circle residency this fall!

What does this mean?  It covers a good chunk of my travel to Norway and the program fees!  I'm going to Svalbard to board an ice-breaking Barque and cruise the arctic!  Killer whales, arctic fox, giant Lion's Mane Jellies, and polar bears are a distinct possibility.... plus this remote, silent landscape.
